Copyright
Last updated November 7, 2026
Become is built for creators. We respect their work, and we expect everyone on Become to respect each other’s.
How Become protects videos
- Premieres are always protected. Every new video on Become Social is checked against them.
- Creators can protect their posts by turning on Protect my videos in Become Social settings.
- A full copy comes down while the owner chooses: allow it with credit, let it be, or block it. If they don’t choose in 48 hours, it goes back up with credit to them.
- Clips stay up with credit that links back to the original, so they bring people to the creator’s work.
Report your work
If something on Become uses your work without permission, send a notice with the form below. Your notice needs to:
- Describe the work you own (and link to it, if it’s online).
- Link to what’s on Become that uses it.
- Give your name, mailing address, phone and email.
- State that you believe in good faith the use isn’t allowed by you, your agent or the law, and that your notice is accurate and you own the work or are allowed to act for the owner, under penalty of perjury.
- Carry your signature (typing your full name counts).
We take it down, tell the member who posted it, and send them a copy of your notice, including your name and contact details.
Respond to a removal
If something of yours was removed and you believe that was a mistake, or that you’re allowed to use it, send a response with the same form. It needs what was removed, your name, address, phone and email, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, outside the United States, any court where Become may be found), that you’ll accept service from the person who sent the notice, and your signature.
We send your response to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they’ve gone to court, we put it back within 10 to 14 business days.
Repeat infringement
Each removal that stands, and each full copy an owner blocks, is a strike. Three strikes in 12 months and posting videos stops on that account. Become may close accounts that keep infringing. Strikes from removals that are reversed are taken back.
Be accurate
Anyone who knowingly misrepresents that something infringes, or that it was removed by mistake, can be liable for damages. If you aren’t sure, ask a lawyer first.
