Bible verses about

Money.

For the bills, the pressure and the plan: what God says about provision and stewardship.

  1. 01

“Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.”

    Proverbs 3:9-10

Firstfruits means the first part, not the leftovers. Giving first declares that God is your source, and the promise attached to it is provision, not lack.

Live it: Before you spend a dollar of your next paycheck, set God’s portion aside first. Decide the amount today and don’t negotiate with it later.

  2. 02

“And my God will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”

    Philippians 4:19

Paul wrote this to a church that had just given generously. God’s supply is measured by His riches, not by your bank balance.

Live it: Write down the real need. Give it to God by name. Then go do the next practical thing in your control. Faith and work move together.

  3. 03

“The plans of the diligent bring plenty, as surely as haste leads to poverty.”

    Proverbs 21:5

In God’s economy, wealth comes from steady, planned work, not shortcuts. Haste and get-rich-quick thinking lead to loss.

Live it: No shortcuts today. Spend fifteen minutes on a real plan: what comes in, what goes out, and one move that grows it. Diligence builds wealth.

  4. 04

“But remember that it is the LORD your God who gives you the power to gain wealth, in order to confirm His covenant that He swore to your fathers even to this day.”

    Deuteronomy 8:18

Your skills, your energy and your opportunities are gifts from God. Remembering where they came from keeps success from pulling you away from Him.

Live it: You’re sitting on a skill that could earn more than it does. Name it, and take one step this week to put it to work.

  5. 05

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each one should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not out of regret or compulsion. For God loves a cheerful giver.”

    2 Corinthians 9:6-7

Giving works like a harvest. What you sow shapes what you reap, and God looks at the heart behind the gift, not the pressure.

Live it: Pick one gift this week and give it gladly. Not out of guilt, not out of pressure. Sow like someone who expects a harvest.

  6. 06

“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is passed to the righteous.”

    Proverbs 13:22

God’s vision for money stretches across generations. Building wealth to pass on is a mark of goodness, not greed.

Live it: Think past this month. Name one asset you can start building for your family this year, and start, even if it’s small.

  7. 07

“Whoever is faithful with very little will also be faithful with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.”

    Luke 16:10

God tests faithfulness with small amounts before He trusts us with more. How you handle a little shows how you’d handle much.

Live it: Track every dollar today, even the small ones. Faithful with little is how you become trusted with much.

  8. 08

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.”

    Matthew 6:33

Jesus doesn’t say money doesn’t matter. He sets the order: God first, then provision follows.

Live it: God gets the first five minutes today, before your accounts, before your inbox. Set the order and watch what follows.

  9. 09

“The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.”

    Proverbs 22:7

Debt changes who you answer to. The borrower serves the lender, and that pressure follows you everywhere.

Live it: Pick one debt and put an attack plan on it today: the amount, the date it’s gone, and the first payment.

  10. 10

“Walk in the manner of the ant, O slacker; observe its ways and become wise. Without a commander, without an overseer or ruler, it prepares its provisions in summer; it gathers its food at harvest.”

    Proverbs 6:6-8

The ant has no boss, yet it stores up in summer for the season ahead. Wisdom builds in the good season so you’re ready for what comes.

Live it: Move money into your seed account today, before anything else gets it. Build in the good season.

  11. 11

“He who loves money is never satisfied by money, and he who loves wealth is never satisfied by income. This too is futile.”

    Ecclesiastes 5:10

Whoever loves money never has enough. Money makes a powerful tool and a terrible master.

Live it: Name one thing you’re chasing for status, not purpose, and let it go this week.

  12. 12

“Idle hands make one poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.”

    Proverbs 10:4

Lazy hands lead to lack, and diligent hands lead to wealth. Scripture connects effort to increase.

Live it: Give your best hour today to the work that actually makes money. No distractions in that hour.

  13. 13

“One gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds what is right, only to become poor. A generous soul will prosper, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.”

    Proverbs 11:24-25

The one who gives generously gains even more, and the one who refreshes others will be refreshed. Stinginess doesn’t lead to plenty.

Live it: Refresh someone today with a gift, a meal or help, without being asked.

  14. 14

“A faithful man will abound with blessings, but one eager to be rich will not go unpunished.”

    Proverbs 28:20

A faithful person will be richly blessed, but someone in a hurry to get rich won’t go unpunished. Faithfulness beats speed.

Live it: Pass on one get-rich-quick idea this week and put that energy into steady, faithful work.

  15. 15

“Be sure to know the state of your flocks, and pay close attention to your herds; for riches are not forever, nor does a crown endure to every generation.”

    Proverbs 27:23-24

Know the condition of your flocks, because riches don’t last forever. Wealth is managed, not just made.

Live it: Check the real state of your money today: what you own, what you owe, what came in.

  16. 16

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.””

    Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. Generosity comes back.

Live it: Give something today in faith, and give it gladly.

  17. 17

“Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be conceited and not to put their hope in the uncertainty of wealth, but in God, who richly provides all things for us to enjoy. Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, and to be generous and ready to share, treasuring up for themselves a firm foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.”

    1 Timothy 6:17-19

Paul tells the wealthy not to trust in riches but in God, and to be rich in good works. Wealth is a tool for good.

Live it: Name one good work your money could do this month, and put it on the calendar.

  18. 18

“Dishonest wealth will dwindle, but what is earned through hard work will be multiplied.”

    Proverbs 13:11

Wealth gained in a hurry dwindles, but whoever gathers little by little makes it grow. Slow and steady builds.

Live it: Set up one small automatic transfer into your seed or investment account today.

  19. 19

“Precious treasures and oil are in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man consumes them.”

    Proverbs 21:20

The wise store up treasure, while the foolish spend everything they get. What you keep matters as much as what you make.

Live it: Before you spend anything else today, move part of your income into savings or investments.

  20. 20

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’”

    Matthew 25:21

In the parable of the talents, the master tells the faithful servant: you were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many.

Live it: Take one thing God already gave you, a skill, an account, a relationship, and multiply it this week.

  21. 21

“You have planted much but harvested little. You eat but never have enough. You drink but never have your fill. You put on clothes but never get warm. You earn wages to put into a bag pierced through.””

    Haggai 1:6

God told His people they were earning wages only to put them in a bag with holes, because they put their own houses before His.

Live it: Look at where your money leaks and check whether God has His place first.

  22. 22

“Do not wear yourself out to get rich; be wise enough to restrain yourself. When you glance at wealth, it disappears, for it makes wings for itself and flies like an eagle to the sky.”

    Proverbs 23:4-5

Don’t wear yourself out chasing riches. Wealth can sprout wings and fly away like an eagle.

Live it: Rest one evening this week without working on money at all. Trust God with it.

  23. 23

“I once was young and now am old, yet never have I seen the righteous abandoned or their children begging for bread.”

    Psalm 37:25

David, now old, says he has never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread.

Live it: Thank God today for one way He has provided for you that you didn’t earn.

  24. 24

“Better a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure with turmoil.”

    Proverbs 15:16

A little with the fear of the Lord is better than great treasure with turmoil. Peace is part of real wealth.

Live it: Ask whether any money decision you’re making would cost you your peace.

  25. 25

“I am not saying this out of need, for I have learned to be content regardless of my circumstances. I know how to live humbly, and I know how to abound. In any and every situation I have learned the secret of being filled and being hungry, of having plenty and having need.”

    Philippians 4:11-12

Paul learned to be content with little and with plenty. Contentment is learned, and it frees you from being ruled by money.

Live it: Name three things you already have that you’re grateful for, before you think about what you want.

  26. 26

“He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like foliage.”

    Proverbs 11:28

Whoever trusts in riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf. Money makes a bad foundation.

Live it: Ask yourself honestly where your security sits today: in your balance, or in God.

  27. 27

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

    2 Corinthians 9:8

God is able to bless you abundantly so that you have what you need and plenty left for every good work.

Live it: Ask God for abundance today with a purpose: so you can do more good.

  28. 28

“Keep falsehood and deceitful words far from me. Give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the bread that is my portion. Otherwise, I may have too much and deny You, saying, ‘Who is the LORD?’ Or I may become poor and steal, profaning the name of my God.”

    Proverbs 30:8-9

The writer asks God for neither poverty nor riches, only daily bread, so he won’t forget God or dishonor Him. Balance protects the soul.

Live it: Pray over your money goals today and ask God to keep your heart humble as they grow.

  29. 29

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

    Matthew 6:19-21

Jesus says to store up treasure in heaven, because where your treasure is, your heart will be too.

Live it: Invest in something eternal this week: a person, a ministry, someone’s need.

  30. 30

“Do not withhold good from the deserving when it is within your power to act.”

    Proverbs 3:27

Don’t withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to act. Generosity has a now.

Live it: If you can help someone today, do it today.
